Just because you're a guy doesn't mean you shouldn't pamper yourself before your wedding day. You don't need to go over the top, but there are a few things you may like to do to help you look and feel your best.
Your bride will love you even more for it! Let’s explore some of the ways you can spruce yourself up:
Keep those hamburgers and pizzas at bay for the time being. The extra oils and processed products in fast food lead to blemishes, weight gain, and various other issues which may become serious problems in the future. Yes, they are convenient when you're busy and they certainly are often more enjoyable, but these types of foods do you no favours. Instead, plan your meals and go for wholesome nutrition.
Making some healthy sarmies for lunch is much better than ordering from the take-away place next door.
We know you love your braai meat, but accompany that juicy steak with some fresh vegetables on the side, and opt for a fresh piece of fruit for dessert.
Remember to drink plenty of water, too. You'll feel great, and up to the challenge of meeting your future Mrs. at the end of the aisle.
If you aren't registered at a gym or not playing any sport currently, start doing some brisk walking, light jogging, or take up a recreational sport that appeals to you. You don't need to transform yourself into Johnny Bravo, but even a little exercise makes you look and feel better.
It's also an effective way to deal with stress. With your wedding coming up, there's bound to be more of that around.
However, be careful not to over-do it. You don't want to cause any injury that may impact the big day.
Create a consistent skincare a routine rather than an 'as necessary' approach. Find at least a face wash and moisturiser that works for your skin type, and stick to it in the mornings and evenings every day.
You can also exfoliate once a week. If you do this, your skin will feel softer, fresher, and more comfortable. It'll also appear clearer and brighter.
If you're unsure about what products to use, book a visit to a skincare expert to ascertain your needs. Someone at the pharmacy even can point you in the right direction. Once you've found products that work, stick with them. Changing products can cause complications.
It's also a great idea to go for a few facials before your wedding day, to give your skin that extra boost. Try going a few times well before the wedding at six-week intervals, with your last visit one week prior to the big day. Your pores will be squeaky clean with professional care, and your skin will look and feel incredible.
There is no shame in taking care of yourself! While it is less popular for men to get facials, it is hardly frowned upon. Don't let a silly element like peer pressure keep you from having the skin you deserve!
Whether you're clean-shaven or have a luscious beard, it's best to get an expert shave or trim before the wedding. Your barber can also make sure your hair is perfect for the special day. You want to look neat, clean, and fresh.
